Early in August I took an extended weekend to head up to the wind-swept plains of Lubbock, Texas in order to photograph the wedding of one Mr. Vikram Baliga to one Ms. Alana Bourgeois. It was a great ceremony and truly one of the more unique wedding’s I’ve ever been to.
Some conclusions from shooting my first wedding:
- More fast primes, less slow zooms.
- Buy shoes that fit so that they don’t fall off while the bride is walking down the aisle.
- Less gear is more gear.
- The family photos aren’t the prettiest or fanciest photos. Just the ones that people will actually care about in 20 years.
